News From Denmark

Even though this is not directly relevant to the subject of travelling to France, I still wanted to share with all you dear readers information about recent elections here in Denmark. We now join the list of countries that have had our first female Prime Minister – Helle Thorning-Schmidt from the Danish Labour Party.

England has already had a female Prime Minister. She was well-known all over Europe. Margaret Thatcher is an icon in English politics. Denmark has now entered into that forum, where Germany also has Angela Merkel.

The question is: when will France get their first female President? When will a woman move into the White House in America? Those are very good questions. Equality forces us to rethink politics. Woman can be great political leaders too.

Have a nice weekend everyone, and stay tuned. 🙂

This Blog Revitalized

I was thinking about this blog the other day, and I made a very specific decision, so this blog is now revitalized. I had the original database intact, so it was “just” a question of reinstalling WordPress. The process was fun because now, finally, the blog is ready for our next summer vacation in France in 2012.

Similarly, we did receive e-mails from people who were sorry to see the blog vanish from the blogosphere. For those people I can only say: “Please comment WHILE the blog is alive, rather than crying once it’s gone.” 🙂

On the other hand, I also admit that my decision to stop the blog was WRONG. I am in no way too big to admit that mistake. I will gladly admit when I make a mistake, and my heart still beats for France. Why would anyone whose heart beats for this amazing country ever stop a blog about that favorite country?

Good question indeed. One that I can’t answer, so the blog is back up again.

Stay tuned for more articles as the tables are updated to a new MySQL server. Looking forward to serving lots of new information at a time when the boys are riding the legendary Tour de France indeed. 🙂

I Really Want Your Feedback

As I wrote previously, I am very curious as to what you’re missing. I want this blog to GROW in readership and I believe a key in doing that is getting feedback from you about BOTH what you like, but also what you’re missing.

Please do let me hear from you. I wish you all a happy summer planning your vacations. Please do share photos, inspiring sites worth visiting and many other things to keep things alive for all current readers. Who knows? You might get extra readers for your own blog when you write on this blog.

Carpe diem. 🙂

I Need YOUR Help

I need your help today. I have noticed that readership is under 1.000 visitors for the last three months – less than one sixth of readership on my other blogs.

There may be a perfectly good reason for this, like the crisis causing people to think less of travelling, but I also want to open up for requesting your comments. If there’s anything specific you’re missing please tell me about it. If there is something you want explored, we’re going to France this summer, so please let us know how we could serve your information wishes.

Furthermore, if there’s anything you want to share, like a YouTube video or something else, please feel free to do so. Add hyperlink for the embed code in the comments field. When it’s relevant for vacations in France it will be a welcome opportunity to share with others.

I fully understand that readership can drop temporarily, but I want to assure you that comments ARE welcome. When you have constructive criticism or new ideas, I listen. This blog is written with you – the readers – in mind. I look forward to your feedback. I need your help to stay focused on what interests YOU.

Another One Likes Loire

I just came across another article that indicates that others also greatly enjoy the Loire Valley. You can see it right here: http://www.wordtravels.com/Travelguide/Countries/France/Regions/Loire+Valley.

I was actually reminded of this when I saw a documentary on National Geographic Channel on the subject of the Knights Templar describing the Chinon parchment. Chinon is among my favourite French wines, so I was reminded of this blog.

I will try to keep it more up to date, and apologize for the lack of updates these past weeks. I think this year will inspire more articles… 🙂
