First vacation in 2006, Second in 2007

In 2006 the whole family took its first journey abroad. My wife and I had been to Lübeck (northern Germany) once – before Natacha was born – but child after child and an automobile accident had hindered our original plans to visit France much sooner.

It belongs to the background of the story that our good friends, Britt and Cyril, had moved to France years earlier. It was truly a special thing therefore to begin the journey in our Volvo 740 stationcar over the Bøjden-Fynshav ferry, down through Sønderborg into Germany. Down through Holland and Belgium and into France. Our GPS was named “Ursula” on that journey. She truly said: “Recalculating New Route” (in Danish) many times through this enormous distance. It isn’t all that bad if you can both drive the car, but Henriette hasn’t got a driver’s license yet, so I was stuck to the driver’s seat.

You can see all the photos by visiting the page: http://www.blunck.dk/frankrig/ The text on that page is in Danish, but you will no doubt get an impression of the journey. A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. 🙂

We had a lovely stay at the hotel Au Pavillon Bleu in Ozoir la-Férrière. In fact, we also visited the same hotel in 2007, and we will no doubt do so next time as well. This year we also went to the Asterix Parc and the Hotel Des Trois Hiboux was also very enjoyable. We especially loved the wooden settings in the middle of the forest surrounding the Parc Asterix. Truly an amazing setting.

Please do remember to place this blog in your RSS-feeds. Many articles will appear in this blog. It should become your best resource for information and planning if and when you might also visit this lovely country.
